About this opportunity:
The Department of Applied Business Studies at Ball State University welcomes applications for a full-time tenure track position for the academic year 2026-27, beginning August 17, 2026.
Primary responsibilities include teaching, conducting scholarly research (primarily in the area of Property Management), and service to the Department of Applied Business Studies, Miller College of Business, Ball State University, the Muncie community, and State of Indiana.

What you'll do and what you will bring:
Position Function:
Develop courses and instruct undergraduate students in property management with a commitment to excellence with expertise in one or more of the following areas: residential property management, commercial property management, mixed-use property and general real estate; establish a focused program of scholarship and publish in appropriate top-tier journals; direct master's theses and projects; provide service.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Teach 9 semester hours of Property Management courses each semester
• 3 semester hours of research

Minimum Qualifications:

• A PhD in real estate management, finance, property management, housing or closely related field from an accredited institution.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Professional experience in residential, commercial, or mixed-use real estate property management; record of successful teaching of real estate management or related field; ability to publish in top-tier journals; evidence of grantsmanship experience; willingness to work with real estate property management industry; effective oral and written communication skills; ability to work cooperatively and interact effectively with faculty and staff to contribute to the strategic plan of the department, college and university.
