Assistant Professor
Position Summary
The University of Georgia announces a tenure-track faculty position at the level of Assistant Professor in the Center for Molecular Medicine (CMM) (http://cmm.uga.edu). The mission of the CMM is to better understand the molecular and cellular basis of human disease, and then to use this information for the development of new therapies, cures, and diagnostics. To advance this mission, we are seeking applications from talented and accomplished investigators who exhibit potential for developing vigorous research programs. The CMM is physically and administratively interconnected with the Complex Carbohydrate Research Center (CCRC) (https://ccrc.uga.edu/), which offers unique opportunities for collaborations in analytical and glycobiological aspects of human medicine. We seek outstanding scientists who are addressing fundamental biological problems whose research either complements or expands existing strengths in the Center. Successful candidates will be expected to build and maintain a vibrant, extramurally-funded research program that integrates with and leverages the highly collaborative research environment at the CMM and UGA.
An attractive start-up package with highly competitive conditions of employment will be offered and laboratory space will be located in the CMM Building. The CMM benefits from strong interactions with UGA researchers at the CCRC and other research centers as well as academic departments in the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences, the new School of Medicine, the School of Veterinary Medicine, the College of Pharmacy, and the College of Engineering.
