Assistant Professor Biochemistry
Georgia Southern University is seeking an Assistant Professor in Biochemistry. This is a full-time, tenure-track position reporting to the department chair, requiring teaching, scholarship, and service. The academic 10-month appointment involves an externally-funded research program in biomedical science engaging graduate and undergraduate students.
Required Qualifications: Earned Ph.D. in biochemistry, chemistry, or a related field by August 1, 2026; ability to teach courses in biochemistry, chemistry, and biomedical science; commitment to teaching excellence; ability to develop research programs; effective communication skills; and willingness to engage with student success initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications: Post-doctoral experience and teaching experience.
Proposed Salary: Commensurate with experience, paid on a monthly basis.
Required Documents: Submit a letter addressing qualifications, curriculum vitae, transcripts, statement of teaching philosophy, description of proposed research, start-up proposal, and contact information for three professional references. Letters of recommendation should be uploaded directly.
