Position SummaryThe Kinesiology Department at the State University of New York at Cortland invites applications for a full-time tenure-track assistant professor with a specialization in biomechanics. - Provide instruction at both the undergraduate and graduate levels in biomechanics and other courses as assigned
- Advise/mentor undergraduate and graduate students
Scholarship/Research
- Implement an active research agenda on biomechanics topics that leads to nationally/internationally refereed publications and presentations
- Pursue external funding for research
- Direct graduate/undergraduate research projects
Service
- Provide service to the department, university, and professional organizations
Functional and Supervisory RelationshipsThis position reports to the academic department chair and works closely with department faculty.
Required Qualifications- Earned doctorate in Biomechanics or related field. Candidates who are ABD may be considered with expected completion of the doctorate within one year from appointment date.
Preferred Qualifications - Demonstrate experience and evidence of university-level teaching
- Experience in delivering undergraduate and/or graduate coursework on biomechanics
- Experience using hardware (e.g., force platforms, motion capture, electromyography) and software (e.g., MATLAB, Qualisys, Visual3D) relevant to biomechanics
- Credentialed by relevant professional organizations (e.g., NSCA, TPI, etc.)
