"Assistant Professor, Clinical or Counseling Psychology"

The department of Psychology at St. Lawrence University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Clinical or Counseling Psychology to begin August 2026. We are a collegial department committed to high-impact, innovative teaching, active scholarship, and meaningful student engagement. We seek a colleague who shares our passion for undergraduate education in a liberal arts setting. The successful candidate will regularly teach Abnormal Psychology as well as an upper-level seminar course in Counseling and/or Clinical Psychology. Additional teaching opportunities may include Introductory Psychology or upper-level courses in the candidate’s area of expertise. The standard teaching load is three courses per semester. Salary range $73,000 - $79,000 annually. Actual salary will be determined by education, experience, and other factors protected by law.

The successful candidate will join a department of 10 full-time faculty members and two academic support people who are passionate about supporting our liberal arts curriculum through varied and inclusive pedagogies and scholarly pursuits. Approximately 65-85 students choose to declare a psychology major each year. We also co-sponsor a Neuroscience Major with our Biology Department. Minimum Qualifications

Applicants should have their Ph.D. in Clinical or Counseling Psychology, or a related field, by August 15, 2026, but ABD candidates will be considered. We also welcome applications from candidates with a Psy.D. or Ed.D. whose experience and interests align with the position and the needs of our undergraduate students. A demonstrated commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching and an active scholarly agenda are required.

Licensure and engagement in clinical work are not required for this position.
