Assistant Professor, Clinical Psychology

The Department of Psychology in the College of Sciences (COS) at the University of Central Florida (UCF) invites applications for one full-time, 9-month, tenure track assistant professor position in Clinical Psychology, anticipated to begin in August 2026. We seek dedicated and collegial educators/scientists who can establish collaborative relationships within the department/college as well as with other colleges at the university and within the community. The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in different modalities, including face-to-face and online. The instructional duties and services assignments are in accordance with the department’s current equitable workload policy.

We encourage applicants with research areas that complement current faculty research areas (e.g., substance use disorders, trauma-related psychopathology, sexual violence, suicidality, technology and mental health, and health psychology) as well as those that extend existing areas of expertise.

The Department of Psychology is one of the largest departments by enrollment at UCF, with more than 50 full-time faculty and approximately 4,500 undergraduate majors. The department has three broad areas of emphasis in clinical psychology, human factors and cognitive psychology, and industrial and organizational psychology. UCF’s online bachelor’s degree in Psychology is ranked #4 in the nation by U.S. News and World Report. All members of the department share a common goal of understanding behavior through empirical investigation, which is reflected in teaching and research.

The department is home to two terminal master's programs in Clinical Psychology and I/O Psychology, and three Ph.D. programs in Clinical Psychology, I/O Psychology, and Human Factors and Cognitive Psychology, respectively.

The Clinical Psychology Ph.D. Program has maintained American Psychological Association (APA) accreditation since 2003, and in 2023 received the maximum re-accreditation period of ten years. The program houses a training clinic, which serves the UCF and surrounding communities.
