The Department of Supply Chain Management (SCM) in the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University invites applications for an Assistant Professor position. This is a full-time, benefits-eligible, tenure-track faculty appointment, beginning Fall 2026. Preference is for candidates with a focus on applied empirical research.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The candidate must conduct high-quality research and publish in top-tier SCM journals; effectively teach SCM courses at the undergraduate or graduate level; serve as a research mentor to doctoral students; and interact effectively with colleagues to support and enhance our unique department culture.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Earned Ph.D. in supply chain management, operations management, business analytics, industrial engineering, or a closely related field by position start date; ABD candidates must successfully defend their dissertation by July 1, 2026.
  • Evidence of being able to pursue an active research agenda and publish in top-tier SCM journals.
  • Evidence of capability to effectively teach courses in supply chain management, operations management, business analytics, and related business areas.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Evidence of an active research agenda with publications in top-tier SCM journals.
  • Evidence of teaching excellence in supply chain management courses at the graduate or undergraduate level.
  • Strong training in applied empirical methods.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of artificial intelligence through innovative teaching practices, cutting-edge research, or leadership in academic or professional communities.
  • Research areas of interest in, but not limited to, procurement, supply chain resilience, sustainability, AI in SCM, and SCM technologies.
  • Interest in collaboration with industry or public sector organizations.
  • Evidence of successful external funding.

The application deadline is December 10, 2025. Applications will continue to be accepted on a rolling basis for a reserve pool. Applications in the reserve pool may then be reviewed in the order in which they were received until the position is filled.
