Assistant Professor
Assistant Professor with Duke University (Durham, NC)
Teach undergraduate and graduate classes in Comparative Ethnic Politics. Research the formation and expression of ethnic and sectarian identity, the salience of ethnic and sectarian political demands, the political mobilization of ethnic and sectarian groups, and theoretical and methodological innovations in the conceptualization and measurement of identity. Advise undergraduate students and supervise undergraduate honors theses. Supervise research of graduate students. Participate in workshops. Conduct original research on democratic accountability, ethnic politics, and the politics of development with a focus on South Asia. Attend and present research at professional meetings. Publish research results in professional journals, major university presses, and other outlets.
Discretionary remote work allowed. Must live within reasonable commuting distance of 140 Science Drive, Gross Hall, Durham, NC 27708.
Requirements: Requires a PhD in Political Science or related field.
