Assistant Professor
Engage with the teaching of Biostatistical, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence and Innovation for Health in the Department of Emergency Medicine and the Duke Global Health Institute. Teaching requirements also include mentoring undergraduate, graduate, medical and resident trainees in the School of Medicine. Serve the lead on CME courses through the Division of Translational Health Sciences on Innovations for Health Care and Data Science driven healthcare. Support education of medical students, residents, and fellows in clinical research projects. Provide residents lectures, journal clubs, grand rounds, and other educational events. Develop and enhance research efforts to advance fields related to rehabilitation, health education, and global health. Conduct research activities in conjunction with the department’s dedicated research administrative and core support staff. Apply for external grants to prepare to transition to independent funding. Submit robust applications for at least two federal grants. Write foundation and internal grants for smaller projects. Take grant writing seminars and other career development focused didactics. Submit two NIH grants as Principal Investigator and two as Co-Investigator per year. Grow research portfolio by producing academic output of manuscripts published in peer-reviewed literature. Provide statistical analysis and database management.
Position allows for remote work. In-person reporting required two days per week.
Requirements: Requires a PhD in Biological Sciences or related field. Position requires one year of experience.
