Overview
Assistant Professor, Early American History (Pre-1815)
The Department of History at Auburn University seeks applications for a tenure-track appointment at the rank of assistant professor in Early American history, with a focus on the period before 1815.

Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to teach the first half of the US Survey, an upper-level class on the American Revolution, graduate seminars on Early American history, and will be able to develop specialized courses in their fields of expertise. Contributions to Auburn's core history curriculum (in-person instruction) are also expected
Qualifications
A Ph. D. in History or a related field is required; outstanding candidates who are ABD will be considered but completion of the degree is expected prior to the start of the appointment on August 16, 2027.
Candidates must provide a cover letter, curriculum vitae, a writing sample of no more than 25 pages, and the names and contact information for three referees. Letters of recommendation, official transcripts, teaching materials, and other materials may be requested after the initial review.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The candidate selected must be able to meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States at the time the appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally during employment.
