Position Description

The Department of Education at Spelman College invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning Fall 2027 within the Elementary Education (PK-5 certification) track of the Educator Preparation Program, with a specialization in STEM Education. The successful candidate will prepare teacher candidates to design and lead integrated science, technology, engineering, and mathematics instruction in elementary classrooms, while contributing to the department's broader mission of preparing exceptional, equity-minded educators.

This position combines undergraduate teaching, clinical supervision of teacher candidates, scholarly research, and service to the department, college, and profession.

Responsibilities
  • Teach undergraduate courses in elementary STEM methods, mathematics and science education, and related courses in the Educator Preparation Program curriculum.
