Assistant Professor - Electrophysiologist
Job Description Summary: Tenure track appointments are full-time with an initial probationary period of seven years. Criteria for promotion includes significant achievements in teaching, research/scholarship, and service. The award of tenure is based on potential for sustained contributions, performing beyond expected duties, and demonstrating leadership and innovation in activities that enhance the reputation of the University.
The Clinical Scholar Track is for full-time faculty members who are heavily involved in clinical service, education, and related scholarship. This track has two career paths: Clinician-Educator concentrating on teaching and Clinician-Investigator for concentrating on research/scholarship. Significant contributions in professional and academic service are required for both paths.
Job Duties:
- Provide a full array of EP lab services to patients of the University of Kansas Health System including diagnostic studies to advanced catheter ablation techniques as well as device diagnostics and therapies.
- Participate in night and weekend call responsibilities similar to other departmental electrophysiologists.
- Participate in research, serve the department by participating in committee as requested by the department chair.
- Participate in the education of students, residents, general fellows, and electrophysiology fellows.
- Participate in other scholarly activities derived from clinical and educational work.

Required Qualifications:
Work Experience:
- Completion of an accredited three (3) year cardiology fellowship.
- One year electrophysiology fellowship from an accredited program.
- Experience performing complex ablations.
- Experience using the full array of ablation device diagnostics and therapies.
