Southeast Missouri State University is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time tenure-track faculty position at assistant professor level to teach graduate and undergraduate classes in the Technology Management programs within the Department of Engineering & Technology.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Teach a variety of technology management classes at the graduate and undergraduate level, typically four courses per semester.
  • Support the technology management graduate program and technology management undergraduate programs and related course curriculum.
  • Advise and mentor students and provide leadership to the technology management graduate program.
  • Maintain and advance the industrial advisory board associated with the technology management graduate program.
  • Maintain and advance relationships with professionals in the technology management industry for program improvement and career placement for students.
  • Provide service to the department/college/university including participation in recruitment and retention activities.

Required Qualifications

  • Doctorate in Technology Management or a closely related field (degree must be from a regionally accredited or internationally accredited/government certified university).
  • Demonstrated ability to provide high-quality teaching instruction, utilizing various teaching delivery strategies (including, but not limited to: face-to-face/in-person, blended, online courses, lab-based courses, experiential learning, etc.), in areas such as (but not limited to): industrial supervision, knowledge management, research methods, project management, industrial safety, management of technology innovations, advanced quality concepts, and technical training and development.
  • Demonstrated relevant teaching and/or industrial experiences (a preference for having both teaching and industrial experience, relevant professional certifications and credentials).
  • Demonstrated evidence of effective communication skills (including oral, written, and interpersonal).
  • Demonstrated evidence of student-oriented mindset, including promoting the program, advising and mentoring students and helping students with internship and career placement.
  • Demonstrated evidence of commitment to teamwork, collegiality, and collaboration when interacting with others within and outside of the university community.
