The College of Arts & Sciences seeks a tenure track Assistant Professor to teach courses in post-1900 British Literature. We are particularly interested in candidates who can also teach courses in Global Anglophone literatures. Secondary interests in women's and gender studies, film studies, or emerging genres are especially welcome. This faculty position, based in the Department of English, is a 10-month academic year position, beginning August 1, 2026.
Successful applicants should be able to articulate how they would contribute to the mission of a public liberal arts college and the diversity of our offerings. The successful candidate will teach and develop upper division and graduate courses which contribute to the major curriculum, along with teaching lower division courses such as a British and World Literatures surveys, Georgia College Experience courses and first-year writing.
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Terminal degree in a closely related field.
Must meet SACSCOC accreditation requirements as stated in C.S. 3.7.1 (www.sacscoc.org (faculty credentials)).
Required Experience
Some teaching experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Instructor of record for college level classes in the related discipline.
Record of scholarly activity, publications, or creative works.
Secondary interests in women's and gender studies, film studies, or emerging genres are especially welcome.
