Assistant Professor Experimental Psychology
Job Summary
Reporting to the Department Chair, the Assistant Professor position will require teaching at the graduate level and within the undergraduate B.S. program, will have a significant workload percentage devoted to scholarship, and will involve providing service to the Department. The position is a 10-month, tenure-track appointment.
Required Qualifications
Earned doctorate in psychology or a closely related field by August 1, 2026 with at least 18 graduate semester hours related to Experimental Psychology. Evidence of peer-reviewed scholarship. Experience or interest in developing courses in our undergraduate- and graduate-level Research & Analysis sequences and our undergraduate-level major capstone courses. Willingness to engage with institutional student success initiatives. Commitment to engaging with best practice initiatives in instruction and pedagogy, mentoring, and curriculum design and development. Demonstrated commitment to advancing a strong and growing research and scholarship agenda and the production of research/creative activities as appropriate to the discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
Evidence of peer-reviewed scholarship in computational modeling or CNS psychophysiology (in-progress research may also be considered). Focus on human-subject research. Evidence of successful College/University teaching experience. Experience or interest in developing undergraduate- and graduate-level courses in the physiological bases of psychology. Experience or potential for pursuing external funding. Experience or interest in contributing to Departmental service.
Proposed Salary
Commensurate with experience. These are exempt positions paid on a monthly basis.

Within this setting, the Department of Psychology offers a Bachelor of Science, Master of Science with concentrations in Experimental Psychology and Behavior Analysis, and an APA-accredited PsyD in Clinical Psychology. This position will primarily involve teaching courses on the Statesboro Campus.
