Essential Job Duties:
The Department of Finance in the Poole College of Management at North Carolina State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Finance position, with a preferred specialization in Corporate Finance.
Position Responsibilities
- Research: Develop and maintain a high-quality, impactful research program in finance consistent with the expectations of a Research 1 (R1) university.
- Teaching: Deliver high-quality instruction in finance at the undergraduate and graduate (MBA) levels, with the ability to teach in both in-person and online formats.
- Service: Contribute to the academic and professional community through service to the department, college, university, and relevant professional organizations.
- Engagement: Engage collaboratively with faculty colleagues and contribute to the continued growth and academic excellence of the Department of Finance and Poole College of Management.
Appointment Details
The anticipated start date is August 16, 2027.
Minimum Experience/Education:
- Candidates must currently hold a Ph. D., or will complete the requirements for the degree by Fall of 2027, in finance or a closely related field.
Required Qualifications:
- Qualified candidates should possess strong records in research, teaching, and service, or have the potential to achieve the same.
- For consideration, candidates should demonstrate strong scholarly research capabilities consistent with a Research 1 university and an ability to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Preference will be given to experienced assistant professors, with an established research record and evidence of quality teaching.
