Assistant Professor – Fisheries and Extension

The Fisheries and Water Resources Discipline is in the College of Natural Resources at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (www.uwsp.edu/cnr/). It has approximately 1,585 undergraduates, 50 graduate students, and over 120 faculty and staff. The Fisheries and Water Resources Discipline is currently home to the Wisconsin Cooperative Fishery Research Unit (USGS), the Aquatic Biomonitoring Laboratory, the Center for Watershed Science and Education, and several joint research efforts with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, including the Fisheries Analysis Center. The College supports premier undergraduate natural resource programs with disciplines in Fisheries and Water Resources, Forestry, Environment and Society, Soil and Waste Resources, Wildlife Ecology, and the Department of Paper Science and Chemical Engineering.

This is a twelve-month, tenure track faculty position in the UW-Stevens Point College of Natural Resources (CNR) that also serves as an affiliated Extension specialist with the UW-Madison Division of Extension’s Natural Resources Institute. The successful candidate will integrate applied research, technical assistance, and community engagement with Extension, while supporting the CNR’s undergraduate education and outreach mission. As part of the faculty and staff team within the Center for Watershed Science and Education (CWSE), this position is expected to assist communities and other stakeholders in the investigation and management of current and emerging water resource concerns in Wisconsin and the surrounding region.
