Cracow University of Technology ANNOUNCES A COMPETITION FOR THE POSITION OF
ASSISTANT PROFESSOR (F/M) IN THE GROUP OF TEACHING STAFF AT THE CHAIR OF TRANSPORTATION AND LOGISTICS SYSTEMS (L-6), FACULTY OF CIVIL ENGINEERING

- Essential requirements:
- a doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in the discipline of civil engineering, geodesy and transport, or in a related discipline corresponding to the profile of the position,
- significant professional achievements or professional practice,
- documented knowledge of English at a minimum B2 level,
- documented teaching, scientific, organisational or professional achievements related to the profile of the position (e.g. publications, projects, implementations, awards, scholarships or prepared teaching materials),
- readiness to indicate Krakow University of Technology as the primary place of employment if employed,
- fluent command of Polish, spoken and written,
- pedagogical qualifications.
- Additional requirements:
- research interests related to transport and logistics,
- organisational skills and the ability to work in a team,
- teaching experience in conducting practical classes, design classes or laboratory classes,
- ability to prepare teaching materials and use modern teaching methods and tools,
- knowledge of selected tools used in transport modelling, logistics, simulation and data analysis, such as VISUM, AIMSUN, AutoCAD, AnyLogistix, FlexSim, Ouster Studio or equivalent tools, as well as advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel,
- ability to think analytically and work with data.
- experience in carrying out research, implementation or educational projects,
- experience in cooperation with the socio-economic environment,
- experience in conducting scientific activity and a publication record in transport, logistics or a related field.
- Scope of tasks performed in the position / job description (responsibilities and entitlements):
a) conducting teaching classes (practical classes, laboratories, projects) in transport and logistics,
b) preparing and improving teaching materials and developing modern teaching methods,
c) supervising student projects and supporting the activities of student research clubs in transport and logistics,
d) participating in the scientific activity of the Chair, including preparing publications and participating in research projects related to the Chair’s subject area,
e) participating in the organisational work of the Chair and the Faculty, and in events promoting the “Transport and Logistics” degree programme,
f) improving professional qualifications.
The detailed scope of duties of an academic teacher employed in a teaching position is specified in Appendix No. 4 to the CUT Work Regulations. - Description of working conditions, we offer, among other things:
- remuneration for work:
• fixed components of remuneration in the amount of:
✓ base salary ranging from 7 050 PLN to 7 800 PLN.
✓ seniority allowance depending on length of service, i.e., from 3% to 20% of base salary

- the opportunity to develop a publication record and apply for employment in subsequent academic positions after meeting the applicable criteria,
- the possibility of changing from the teaching staff group to the research-and-teaching staff group after meeting the criteria applicable at the Faculty of Civil Engineering and in accordance with the applicable procedures.
- Documents needed:
- application to the Rector of Cracow University of Technology for employment as an assistant professor (F/M) in the teaching staff group,
- detailed CV (including previous employment history),
- photocopies of documents confirming education,
- list of scientific achievements / self-report,
- documents confirming teaching experience,
- document confirming pedagogical qualifications for conducting teaching classes,
- personal questionnaire, available on the CUT website under the “Careers at CUT” tab,
- for people employed in higher education institutions other than CUT: the two most recent periodic evaluation forms issued by the current employer (provided such assessments have been conducted)
- document confirming knowledge of English (e.g.; a language certificate, a diploma suplement, a University certificate, or another equivalent document confirming English language proficiency at a level of at least B2) and, additionally, in the case of foreign nationals, knowledge of Polish to a degree enabling the conduct of teaching activities,
- declaration on selecting Cracow University of Technology as the primary place of employment.
Employment will take place after a competition procedure conducted in accordance with Chapter VI, “Stages of the recruitment procedure”, of the OTM-R Policy, consisting of:
- analysis of the submitted documentation,
- conducting interviews (face-to-face or via instant messaging software)

Documents must be submitted by 12th October 2026. The application must include the candidate's e-mail address for contact purposes regarding the recruitment process.
Announcement of the recruitment process outcome: by 30 October 2026.

Cracow University of Technology reserves the right not to resolve the competition without stating reasons.
The result of the competition is not tantamount to the employment of the candidate (F/M), but is only a recommendation to the Rector. The final employment decision rests with the Rector.
