Assistant Professor - Government & Sociology
The Department of Government and Sociology at Georgia College and State University invites applications for a tenure track position in Public Law to begin August 2026. This position will teach courses in Criminal Justice and Political Science at the graduate and undergraduate level. Successful candidates are expected to engage students in research and/or creative activities.
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Terminal degree in a closely related field.
Must meet SACSCOC accreditation requirements as stated in C.S. 3.7.1 (www.sacscoc.org (faculty credentials)).
Required Experience
Some teaching experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Experience
Instructor of record for college level classes in the related discipline.
Record of scholarly activity, publications, or creative works.
Demonstrated ability to advise students in the GCSU prelaw minor and serve as the faculty advisor of the GCSU Mock Trial Team.
A J.D. in addition to a Ph.D in a closely related field is preferred.
