Assistant Professor Human Development and Family Science
Job Summary
Reporting to the School of Human Ecology Chair, the Assistant Professor of Human Development and Family Science position requires undergraduate teaching. In addition, the position requires developing and sustaining a productive program of research and scholarship, providing service to the School, college, and university, engaging in student success initiatives, and participating in professional development. The position is an academic (10 month) tenure-track appointment.
Required Qualifications
- Earned PhD in Human Development and Family Science, or a closely related field, with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Human Development and Family Science, by August 1, 2026.
- Demonstrated commitment to advancing a strong and growing research and scholarship agenda and the production of research/creative activities as appropriate to the discipline.
- Record of or potential for securing external funding (e.g. grants, fellowships, sponsored research, etc.) to support scholarship and research activities.
- Evidence of, or potential for, excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level in multiple modalities (finalists will be required to demonstrate competence via a teaching demonstration).
- Willingness to engage with institutional student success initiatives.
- Commitment to engaging with best practice initiatives in instruction and pedagogy, mentoring, and curriculum design and development.
Preferred Qualifications
- A minimum of one year of college/university teaching experience.
- Experience with the development and delivery of academic courses in both online and traditional modalities.
- Interest in and ability to integrate experiential learning into coursework.
Proposed Salary
Commensurate with experience. This is an exempt position paid on a monthly basis.
