Position Description: The Department of World Languages and Literatures at Texas State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Spanish with a focus on Applied Spanish, Interpretation, Spanish in Professional Contexts, and Translation.
Required Qualifications: Applicants may be PhD in hand preferred but ABD candidates accepted. Applicants must have or be pursuing a Ph.D in Spanish, Spanish Linguistics, Applied Linguistics, or a comparable field. Terminal Degree must be in hand by March 14, 2027, have native or near-native command of Spanish and English, and should have demonstrated teaching experience in Spanish at the university level. Applicants should have a strong commitment to teaching, scholarly research, and collegial service.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with interpretation. Spanish in Applied contexts, translation, linguistics, applied linguistics. Digital Humanities, UX, and / or AI.
