Assistant Professor in Biology Ecology
Saint Martin’s University, a private Catholic, Benedictine university located in Western Washington, invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in biology at the assistant professor level to begin August 2026. A Ph.D. in Biology or a related field is required, and teaching experience is highly desirable. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience teaching ecology-related courses. Applicants must have a strong commitment to undergraduate education and the ability to teach courses across all levels of an undergraduate biology curriculum.
Biology courses taught will include General Biology, Senior Research, and courses in the candidate’s area of expertise. The successful candidate will be expected to establish a research program involving undergraduates and will be expected to advise students, perform departmental and university-wide service, and participate in ongoing curriculum development.
The successful candidate will also be expected to teach in the University’s Core Curriculum and occasionally in the First Year Seminar program. The teaching load for this position is 24 semester credit hours per year, with a reduced load in the first and fourth years.
