Assistant Professor in Biology (Limited Term Faculty)

Located in downtown Toronto, the Department of Chemistry and Biology in the Faculty of Science at Toronto Metropolitan University invites applications for a Limited Term Faculty (LTF) position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Biology. The appointment shall be effective August 1, 2026 for a one (1) year term, subject to final budgetary approval.

The successful candidate will engage only in the teaching and service duties of faculty members in the Department. The candidate will contribute to our undergraduate (BSc) and graduate (MSc/PhD) programs through teaching, mentoring and supervision of students.

Candidates must hold a doctoral degree in a Biological field or closely related field by the appointment date. ABD candidates close to completion may be considered.

Required evidence:

• Demonstrated capacity for teaching excellence at all levels of undergraduate curriculum, as evidenced by a teaching dossier.
• Commitment to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in teaching and service.
• Ability to contribute to departmental and university service.

Courses may include: BLG143, BLG144, BMS865, BCH463, and/or similar.

Minimum salary: $103,916.30 per annum.
