Assistant Professor in Business Operations Information Systems

Job Summary

As an Assistant Professor in Business Operations Information Systems, you will contribute to the development of innovative information systems within Defense. This role involves research on managements systems and teaching future officers, focusing on the intersection of technical IT and organizational processes.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research and provide advice on the implementation, evolution, and operation of integrated information systems, including data management, ERP developments, IS-service innovations, and process mining.
  • Engage with military organizations involved in policy and implementation programs for information systems, including policy levels, business operations, and shared service centers.
  • Collaborate and exchange expertise with colleagues in military management studies, military technical sciences, and war studies.
  • Coordinate and participate in bachelor and master courses on information management, quantitative methods, technology management, and digital transformation.
  • Contribute to the development of business information systems within Defense components, combining ERP technical expertise with insights into business processes and data analysis.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • A completed Master of Science and PhD, preferably in Business (Management) Information Systems or a relevant field.
  • Affinity with Dutch-language and complex work environments, as bachelor education is conducted in Dutch.
  • Experience in research, formulating research questions, and implementing business operations systems.
  • Teaching experience in academic education is preferred.
  • One or more publications in international academic journals.
  • Willingness to undergo a security investigation.
  • Strong analytical and curious mindset, excellent communication skills (at least B2 level in Dutch), networking abilities, interdisciplinary collaboration skills, organizational and project management strengths, and high integrity.

What the Employer Offers

  • Salary scale 12, with a monthly gross salary between €5,748 and €7,427 based on a 38-hour workweek.
  • Temporary appointment of 6 months with prospect of a permanent position, for 32 hours per week.
