Job Summary
Job ID 286873 Position # 20014471 Augusta University's Department of Communication is hiring an Assistant Professor in Integrated Strategic Communication. This is a tenure-track position anticipated to begin August 1, 2026. The preferred candidate will be expected to have a PhD in communication, mass communication, communication studies, or media studies, or a closely related discipline. The candidate may be expected to teach communication courses in the areas of Health Communication, Campaigns, Social Media, as well as COMM 1110 (public speaking). The candidate is expected to maintain a robust record of research, serve on department and college committees, and work well with both colleagues and students.

Required Qualifications
PhD in communication, mass communication, communication studies, or media studies, or a closely related discipline. Assistant Professor- Early level career as a faculty member. Required faculty employment qualifications for all USG institutions and all academic ranks within these institutions shall be: Consistent with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC)'s requirements for institutional accreditation. Evidence of ability as a teacher. Evidence of activity as a scholar and ability in all other duties assigned. Successful experience (which will necessarily be waived for those just entering the academic profession who meet all other requirements); and, Desirable personal qualities judged based on personal interview, complete biographical data, and recommendations.

Knowledge of and ability to teach media analytics Expertise in research methods
Shift/Salary/Benefits
This position is academic year based and typically works August through May, depending on dates outlined in offer letter and yearly contract. The intended work commitment or full-time equivalent (FTE) for this position is 1.0. Assistant Professor- Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. The Department of Communication at Augusta University prepares students for today's rapidly changing workplace and emphasizes transferable skills that employers demand in dynamic, creative, and team-oriented environments.
