Assistant Professor in Economics
The Department of Economics at The University of Western Ontario invites applications for up to two probationary (tenure track) appointments, at the rank of Assistant Professor, in Economics, having a specialization in Development Economics, Econometrics, Industrial Organization, International Economics, Labor, Applied Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Microeconomic Theory, or Public Economics. Unless otherwise specified, these appointments are effective July 1, 2026 but an alternate starting date may be arranged. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Qualifications: For a probationary appointment, the candidate must have completed (or be very close to completion of) a doctoral degree in Economics. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence or clear promise of excellence in research, including ability to publish in the highest quality academic outlets, and in teaching, including the ability to successfully teach undergraduate and graduate courses. Candidates must have excellent oral communication, written communication and interpersonal skills.
Duties: Duties include course delivery in the Economics undergraduate and graduate programs, supervision of graduate students, maintaining an active research program including applying for external grant funds, and some administrative duties.
