Qualifications
Applicants must hold a PhD degree in economics or an equivalent discipline. For this position, we are especially interested in applicants who specialize in the fields of macroeconomics and monetary economics, and preference will be given to those with research and teaching experience at the tertiary educational level. While applicants must be fluent in English, ability to speak Chinese may be considered an asset, though it is not a prerequisite for the appointment.
The selected candidate is expected to assume duty by Spring 2027.
Remuneration
A taxable annual remuneration starting from MOP855,400 (approximately USD105,600) will be commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification and relevant professional experience. The current local maximum income tax rate is 12% but is effectively around 5% - 7% after various discretionary exemptions.
