Assistant Professor in Environmental Humanities
The Department of Art History, Cinema, and Audiovisual Media offers teaching that covers diverse artistic movements up to the present day, while giving space to a multiplicity of theoretical and methodological approaches, as well as to artistic productions from different geographical areas.
The successful candidate will address the pronounced needs of our student community, which, concerned about ecology and worried about the impact of the climate crisis, increasingly wishes to explore the various ways in which art and art history can reflect on ethical and political questions related to these challenges. The envisioned position will stimulate collaborations within the department, particularly in areas such as indigenous studies, ecofeminism, queer ecologies, animal studies, landscape and garden art, and issues related to decolonization and the more-than-human world.
