Position Overview
Trinity College Dublin, Ireland’s leading university (ranked 75th globally, QS World University Rankings 2026), invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Medicinal Chemistry.
The successful candidate will:
- Be a full member of the School of Chemistry and the Organic, Medicinal & Biological Discipline
- Work collaboratively in a lively, international research environment
- Avail of state-of-the-art facilities in the School and Trinity Biomedical Sciences Institute (TBSI)
- Contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching within the Discipline and interdisciplinary courses
Research Focus
Applicants should have a proposed research programme in Medicinal Chemistry with synthetic and/or computational focus, complementing existing areas:
- Medicinal Chemistry
- Supramolecular Chemistry & Sensors
- Catalysis
- Tetrapyrroles
- Peptide and DNA Chemistry
- Chemical Biology
Opportunities exist to engage in ongoing interdisciplinary research initiatives within the School.
Position Details
- Tenure Track: 5-year initial period; permanency contingent on meeting tenure requirements
- Salary: Lecturer Salary Scale (109BN) €43,425 – €103,582 per annum (commensurate with qualifications/experience)
