Since its founding in 1919, the Faculty of Pharmacy of the Université de Montréal has been a leader in training and research on drugs and pharmaceutical care thanks to its innovative, interdisciplinary approach to meeting society's healthcare challenges. Now installed in the Jean-Coutu Pavilion, it boasts state-of-the-art laboratories and classrooms equipped with the latest technological tools, and a bright agora that contributes to the excellence and well-being of those who study and work…
there. The Faculty is continuously evolving to fulfill its role as a driver of change for the advancement of pharmacy and the pharmaceutical sciences.
The Faculty of Pharmacy is recruiting an Assistant Professor in pharmacoeconomics. The professor will develop a field of research and teaching in pharmacoeconomics.
The successful candidate will be invited to apply for a Tier 2 Canada Research Chair (CRC).
Tier 2 Chairs, tenable for five years and renewable once, are for exceptional emerging researchers, acknowledged by their peers as having the potential to lead in their field. For each Tier 2 Chair, the Canada Research Chairs (CRC) Program allocates to institutions $100,000 annually for five years, with an additional $20,000 annual research stipend for first-term Tier 2 Chairs.
Day-to-day responsibilities
Through your undergraduate and graduate-level teaching, and your research activities, you will contribute to the faculty's pursuit of excellence. Furthermore, you will promote your discipline and actively participate in the daily activities of a renowned institution. As a professor and holder of a Canada Research Chair, you will:
- Leverage your world-class leadership in the field of pharmacoeconomics, an area with the potential to generate positive social and economic benefits for Canadians. You will focus your research on the development or application of new methods in pharmacoeconomics using, among other approaches, modelling, artificial intelligence, and big data;
- Actively foster the co-creation of research programs and interventions with partners from all sectors (academic, public, private, and non-profit) to increase the application of research outcomes in pharmacoeconomics for the benefit of all Canadians. You will also facilitate the mobilization and application of the Chair's research results in various forms to foster economic growth and social innovation;
- Teach in French at all levels of study, particularly in pharmacoeconomics, health economics, and pharmacoepidemiology;
- Supervise master's and doctoral students as well as postdoctoral fellows in the completion of theses and dissertations;
- Have the opportunity to apply for infrastructure funding from the Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI);
- Lead major interfaculty projects with national and international reach;

- Contribute actively to the academic and scientific life of the Faculty.
