TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
The Call is open to applicants of either gender on equal terms.
In addition to the general terms and conditions of employment, under all points of the Call the applicants must satisfy the requirements set out in the Act on Higher Education and Scientific Activity (Official Gazette No 119/22).
Under any point of the Call applicants must enclose the following:
- a CV;
- the relevant diploma or certificate attesting to the required level of academic qualifications;
- proof of citizenship (a photocopy of the certificate of nationality or identity card).
Applicants applying for point 1 of the Call must satisfy the following conditions:
- a doctorate degree in natural sciences, the field of chemistry.
Additional conditions:
- experience in the field of physical supramolecular chemistry or physical macromolecule chemistry and the application of experimental methods used in these studies. The evidence of eligibility should include the reprints of published papers, conference proceedings and doctoral or master’s theses.
Applicants applying for points 1 and 2 of the Call must submit:
- proof of meeting the National university, scientific, and artistic criteria (Official Gazette 42/2026) (hereinafter: National Criteria). In accordance with the Transitional Provisions of the National Criteria, or Article 98(1): 'Within 60 months from the date of entry into force of these National Criteria, in the procedure for appointment to an open scientific-teaching position of assistant professor, for appointment to a senior scientific-teaching position of associate professor, full professor, and a tenured full professor, as well as for reappointment to a scientific-teaching position of assistant professor, associate professor, and full professor, at the request of the applicant submitted before the expiration of the deadline for submitting proof of eligibility for the appointment or reappointment, the provisions of Annex I of these National Criteria instead of Part Two, Chapter II, and Chapter III, as well as the provisions of Annex II of these National Criteria instead of Chapter IV shall apply to their appointment or reappointment: https://narodne-novine.nn.hr/clanci/sluzbeni/2026_04_42_506.html.
- proof of eligibility under the terms and conditions of the Call in accordance with Article 10 of the Ordinance on Appointment into Grades and the Corresponding Positions at the University of Zagreb Faculty of Science (which can be accessed on the PMF website).
Information for foreign nationals
Foreign nationals applying under any point of this Call must enclose a proof of Croatian language proficiency in addition to the above-listed documents.
Candidates applying for points 1 and 4 of the Call should enclose with their application a proof of eligibility under the additional terms and conditions in accordance with the Ordinance on Additional Terms and Conditions for Appointment into Grades and the Corresponding Positions at the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb.
Applicants applying for any point of the Call who qualify for employment preference under the special regulations should refer to the preference in their application and enclose therewith all evidence as listed in the special regulations governing the priority placement rights, as well as all evidence of eligibility and of absence of any impediment to their exercising of the priority placement rights as stipulated under the special regulations. Such applicants will be given employment preference within this Call over other candidates, under the same terms and conditions of the Call, based on a duly completed, complete and timely application, provided they meet all the terms and conditions of the Call and achieve top results in the selection procedures.

An application shall be deemed duly completed if it contains all the data and the supporting documents in keeping with the Call requirements. Incomplete, disorganised, and late applications shall not be taken into consideration, nor will there be a subsequent invitation to the applicants to amend such applications.
CANDIDATE ASSESSMENT PROCEDURE:
Applicants applying for points 1, 2, 3, and 4 of the Call who are fully eligible under the formal terms and conditions of the Call may be invited to take part in an interview as part of the selection procedure.
If invited, the applicants will receive a separate e-mail advising them of the time and place of the interview.
Any applicant who fails to attend the interview at the time and the place as specified in the separate invitation, shall be deemed to have withdrawn from the Call proceedings.
The PMF collects and processes personal data of the applicants taking part in the Call for Applications for positions with the aim of verifying their qualifications and eligibility in accordance with the Decision on the Collection, Protection and Processing of Personal Data (CLASSIFICATION No: 035-01/18-01/5; FILE No:251-58-10201-18-2).
The closing date for submission of applications for point 1 of the Call is 60 days after publication in the Official Gazette.
The results of the Call will be published on the official website of the PMF: www.pmf.unizg.hr (section: Calls for Applications).
