Job Description: The Psychology Department at Arcadia University is inviting applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor to begin in Fall 2026. The candidate's primary field of expertise within Psychology is open. Competitive candidates will be able to teach research methods or experimental psychology (critical thinking, reading, and writing), social and/or developmental psychology, along with elective courses related to their expertise. Competitive applicants will also demonstrate a record of engaging undergraduate students with evidence-based practices that promote student success and skill-building. Our Department particularly emphasizes critical thinking, the importance of evidence-based conclusions, and effective oral and written communication.

Responsibilities:
- Tenure-track Full-time faculty members at Arcadia typically teach a 3-3 load, often with fewer than three course preparations in a given semester;
- Collaborate with undergraduates in scholarship;
- Are involved in Service, such as participation in a University initiative or committee;
- Advise Psychology major students. Competitive applicants will have experience mentoring undergraduate students.
The successful candidate champions inclusive student engagement initiatives, contributing to campus-wide efforts to enhance student belonging and retention.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ph.D in a relevant field; ABD only considered with clear evidence of effective teaching.
- Ability to teach research methods and related courses, as well as courses within your expertise.
- Commitment to inclusive excellence in undergraduate teaching.
- Evidence of scholarship that is feasible and collaborative with undergraduates.

- Evidence of teaching effectiveness (e.g., clear summary of recent quantitative and qualitative course evaluation data);
- Description of research interests, which should describe how your research can be feasibly conducted by undergraduates at a small, liberal arts institution;
