POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The School of Natural and Health Sciences at Seton Hill University currently invites applications for an assistant professor or instructor of nutrition and dietetics. This position is a full-time, 10-month faculty appointment that will begin in August 2025 or January 2026, depending on applicant availability. The Nutrition & Dietetics Program is seeking an individual to contribute to teaching, advising, service, and scholarly activities in accordance with the University and Department policies and procedures, and ACEND standards. The program offers Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees, including the ACEND accredited MS in Nutrition & Dietetics. Primary duties are to teach courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, provide quality academic advising, pursue scholarly activity and professional development, and participate in service to the program including assisting with ACEND accreditation standards. Teaching responsibilities will include a variety of nutrition & dietetics courses, such as Contemporary Issues in Food & Nutrition, Community Nutrition, and Food Service Management; and may vary based on the applicant's areas of expertise.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
- Teaching and advising
- Teach both undergraduate and graduate populations
- Teach in both in-person and online formats
- Mentor students through academic and professional development
- Provide academic advising
- Scholarship and professional activities
- Engage in professional and/or scholarly activity in the field
- Service to the University
- Participate in service to the program, including assisting with ACEND accreditation standards
- Participate in service to the University
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- A MS in Nutrition & Dietetics, or related field, is required
- Registered Dietitian, licensed to practice in Pennsylvania
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Doctoral degree, such as PhD in Nutrition or Doctor of Clinical Nutrition, or related field is preferred for the assistant professor level
- Familiarity with ACEND accreditation standards
- Ability to supervise students during experiential learning experiences
