Nuclear Engineering Program (UNEP) and support our teaching mission. The main responsibility will be teaching a variety of nuclear engineering courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels, including topics such as nuclear fundamentals, reactor theory, radiation detection, fuel cycles, and thermal-hydraulics. While the primary focus is on nuclear engineering, candidates who are also able to teach core Civil and Environmental Engineering courses—such as statics, hydraulics, and strength of materials—will be viewed favorably, but this is not a requirement for the position. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in nuclear engineering or a closely related field by the start date. Strong communication skills, a passion for teaching, and a commitment to student success are required. Key responsibilities include: teaching nuclear engineering courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels; (optionally) teaching core Civil and Environmental Engineering courses; helping update and improve the nuclear engineering curriculum; advising and mentoring students; and participating in departmental, college, and university service, including outreach and workforce development to grow Nuclear Engineering at the University of Utah.
