Assistant Professor (Limited Term Appointment) in Sport, Exercise, and Physical Activity within the Community
The Kinesiology & Physical Education Department at Wilfrid Laurier University invites applications for a 2-year Limited Term Appointment (LTA) faculty position at the Assistant Professor level in Sport, Exercise, and Physical Activity within the Community beginning September 1, 2026, subject to budgetary approval. The primary campus location for this position is Waterloo; however, teaching responsibilities may include instruction at the Brantford and Milton campuses via in-person or virtual delivery.
Anticipated Salary Range: $90,000 to $125,000. Actual salary to be commensurate with experience.
List the duties and responsibilities of the position:
- Ability to teach Sociocultural Aspects of Sport, Sociology of Sport, Sport/Exercise Psychology, or within the area of Fundamental Movement Skills, Teaching/Coaching of Physical Activity and/or Physical Education/Sport Pedagogy
- Support the department’s efforts in experiential learning and knowledge mobilization
- Research specialization and expertise within Sport/Exercise Psychology, Physical Activity Promotion, Sociocultural Aspects of Sport, Behaviour Modification
- Collaborate and engage with other faculty members within the department and Faculty of Science
- Contribute to the department and institutional culture through service
Qualification for the positions include a PhD in Kinesiology or related field.
