The Department of Economics in the Faculty of Arts at the University of New Brunswick, Fredericton, New Brunswick (Canada), invites applications for a two-year limited term appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor. The start date of the position is July 1, 2026, and is subject to final budgetary approval.

The salary range and fringe benefits for this position are defined in the Association of University of New Brunswick Teachers (AUNBT) 2022 - 2025 Collective Agreement sections 35 and 36B.

Candidates should have a PhD in Economics (or be near completion). The successful candidate must be prepared to teach microeconomic theory, econometrics, and environmental economics at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach, or co-teach, the equivalent of four courses each year, which could include introductory and advanced economic courses that align with the candidate's experience at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The selected candidate will provide evidence of high-quality teaching and relevant professional and research experience. The successful candidate will be expected to be engaged in a program of research and scholarly publications within their area of expertise for the duration of this term appointment. The successful candidate will also serve on committees for the department and faculty. Graduate student supervision and mentoring will be an important element.
