"Assistant Professor Medicinal Chemistry"

Job Summary: As an Assistant Professor, you will lead your own research group in medicinal chemistry, supervise and mentor PhD candidates, and teach in Bachelor’s and Master’s programs in Chemistry, Molecular Life Sciences, and Science. You will develop an independent research program focusing on the design, synthesis, and biological function of new molecules, and acquire external research funding, possibly with collaborators.

Responsibilities:

• Develop a competitive research program in medicinal chemistry.
• Supervise and mentor PhD candidates.
• Teach in relevant Bachelor’s and Master’s programs.
• Acquire external research funding.
• Collaborate with academic and/or industrial partners.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Background in chemistry or biochemistry, particularly in studying or modulating molecular mechanisms related to health and illness, such as neurological or immunological disorders.
• Experience with medicinal chemistry and/or chemical biology techniques, including synthesis of small molecules and/or biomolecules.
• Ability to work as a team player and connect with existing scientific work.
• Preferably, experience in acquiring external funding and collaborating with partners.
