Rector of the Warsaw University of Technology announces a competition for the position of
ASSISTANT PROFESSOR (M/F)
in the following employee groups: research and teaching field of study Engineering and technology; discipline environmental engineering, mining and energy in the Division of Energy Technologies and Systems, Institute of Heat Engineering at the Faculty of Power and Aeronautical Engineering at the Warsaw University of Technology which shall be the primary place of employment as defined by the Act of 20 July 2018 - Law on Higher Education and Science hereinafter referred to as ‘the Law’.
1. Candidates are required:
- to have completed higher education and obtained a master’s degree or an equivalent qualification, to have title of Doctor of Engineering in the field of nuclear energy,
- fluency in spoken and written Polish, sufficient to conduct classes in that language,
- fluency in spoken and written English, sufficient to conduct classes in that language, write scientific articles and grant proposals, and communicate in an international setting,
- authoring or co-authoring publications and conference presentations (at least one publication in a Q1 journal) in the field of nuclear energy, as well as research and development (R&D) activities (at least one patent application),
- participation in national or international research projects commissioned by external entities (having led at least one European project), and holding a certificate in project management,
- experience in preparing applications for external research grants,
- teaching experience, particularly in conducting lectures, seminars, and laboratory classes in the field of nuclear energy, including laboratories with radioactive sources,
- proficiency in using the RELAP, CATHARE, TRACE, and MELCOR simulation environments,
- experience in conducting training courses in the field of nuclear energy,
- experience in performing work for nuclear regulatory authorities (at least one project) and work related to the implementation of nuclear energy in Poland (at least one project),
- Completion of international internships at research institutions or companies involved in the nuclear energy sector (at least one internship).
2. The person applying for the post should satisfy the requirements set forth in the Law on Higher Education and Science and in § 118-121 of the Warsaw University of Technology Statute.
3. Candidates shall submit the following documents:
- a letter of application to the Vice-Rector for General Affairs
- a CV
- candidate’s personal information form;
- copy of the diploma of higher education confirming the obtained master’s degree or an equivalent degree
- a certified copy of the PhD diploma
- a list of research, teaching and organizational output and achievements
- other documents certifying additional qualifications
- acknowledgement of WUT as a primary place of employment, as defined in the Act of Law on Higher Education and Science
- a declaration on:
- the full capacity to perform acts in law
- enjoying full civil rights
- not being convicted by a valid sentence for an intentional crime or an intentional tax offence
- no disciplinary penalty as defined in Article 276 section 1 items 7 and 8 of the Law on Higher Education and Science of 20 July 2018 being imposed on them
