Offer Description
The Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences, University of Zagreb invites applications for:
One (1) position of Assistant Professor (m/f) in the scientific field of Transport and Traffic Technology (technical sciences), for full-time, permanent employment at the Department of Transport Planning.
Applicants must meet the general requirements prescribed by the Croatian Act on Higher Education and Scientific Activity (Official Gazette 119/2022), as well as the requirements of the requirements prescribed by the National University, Scientific and Artistic Criteria (Official Gazette No. 42/2026). Candidates must submit appropriate documentation proving that the prescribed requirements are met.
The application must include:
- A signed application letter
- Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- Evidence of scientific, teaching, and professional activity (with supporting documents)
- Proof of academic degree(s)
- For applicants with foreign qualifications: a decision on the recognition of foreign higher education qualifications (https://www.azvo.hr/en/enic-naric-office/recognition-of-foreign-qualifications)
- For foreign citizens: proof of proficiency in the Croatian language (C2 level)
Applicants exercising legal rights to employment preference must clearly indicate this in their application and submit all relevant supporting documents as prescribed by law. Preference will be given only under equal conditions.
The Faculty reserves the right to conduct interviews and professional testing of candidates who meet the formal requirements. Applicants will be notified of the details via e-mail. If a candidate does not attend the assessment, it will be considered that the application has been withdrawn.
The Faculty reserves the right not to select any candidate, and to cancel or suspend the call without further explanation.
Application deadline: 30 days from the date of the call’s publication. Late and incomplete applications will not be considered, nor will applicants be invited to complete their applications afterwards.

Selection process
All applications will be reviewed by the Selection Committee appointed by the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences. Only candidates who meet the formal requirements will be considered.
The selection process may include:
- Interview with selected candidates
- Testing of relevant knowledge and skills, if deemed necessary by the Committee
Candidates will be notified of the results or further steps via the e-mail address provided in their application.
Failure to attend the interview or testing (if invited) will be considered a withdrawal from the application process.
The Faculty reserves the right not to select any candidate or to cancel the call without further explanation.
