on the DUNE experiment along with T2K, NoVA, and ICARUS/SBN. There is also a group working on the Darkside who are interested in lower energy interaction processes. In addition, the UH physics department also has a large theoretical (LQCD, NPM3, MUSES) and experimental (ALICE at LHC, STAR at RHIC, and ePIC at the future EIC) nuclear physics programs. The primary motivation for this position is to strengthen the bridge between the theoretical and experimental neutrino-nucleus interaction communities, a necessary requirement for a successful DUNE physics program. However the ability to collaborate with other groups within the UH Physics department will be strongly considered. Candidates must have a strong record of scholarship and be able to establish and sustain a robust, externally funded research program. Preference will be given to those with postdoctoral experience. Candidates must also demonstrate a commitment to and potential for excellence in teaching a wide range of physics courses at both graduate and undergraduate levels, as well as in mentoring students in research. Effective communication skills are required. PhD in Physics or a closely related field. Applications should include: (1) a detailed cover letter describing the applicant’s background and qualifications for the position, (2) a statement of philosophy, interest, and experience in teaching, (3) a detailed statement of proposed research, including plans for involving students and for seeking external support, (4) a full curriculum vitae, including a list of publications and the names, addresses, e-mail addresses, and telephone numbers of at least three professional references.
