Klesse College of Engineering & Integrated Design
The Margie and Bill Klesse College of Engineering & Integrated Design (Klesse College) is home to more than 4,200 students and 140 full-time faculty, creating an interdisciplinary environment for education, research, and creative scholarship. The College includes the School of Architecture & Planning; the School of Civil & Environmental Engineering, and Construction Management; and departments encompassing biomedical and chemical engineering, electrical engineering, and mechanical, aerospace, and industrial engineering.
Across these disciplines, Klesse College offers nine undergraduate majors, fifteen master's degrees, six doctoral degrees, and eight certificate programs, with professional accreditations and affiliations in architecture, engineering, construction science and management, and interior design. Research and interdisciplinary collaboration are central to the College's mission, supported by multiple research centers and institutes and extensive research, teaching, and fabrication facilities, including a 17,000-square-foot Makerspace.

School of Architecture + Planning
The School of Architecture + Planning (SA+P) recently relocated to One Riverwalk Place, a repurposed 19-story tower on San Antonio's iconic River Walk in the heart of historic downtown. As part of UT San Antonio's Southwest Campus, the SA+P is situated near the historic Ursuline Academy, San Antonio Public Library, and Tobin Center for the Performing Arts. This new setting provides a platform for teaching, research, and engagement focused on creating more livable, resilient, and beautiful cities.
The SA+P offers degree programs in Architecture (BS, MArch 2, and MArch 3), Interior Design (BS), and Urban and Regional Planning (MS), as well as graduate certificates in Historic Preservation, High-Performance Design and Sustainability, and Urban and Regional Planning, and an undergraduate certificate in Design Communication and Fabrication. Collaborative, cross-disciplinary scholarship is a hallmark of these programs, strengthened by the SA+P's connections to the engineering disciplines within the Klesse College. Multiple research institutes, centers, and labs across the university support these collaborations, including the Center for Cultural Sustainability, housed within the SA+P.

Salary Range: Commensurate with education, experience, and qualifications.

Position Summary
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Develop a nationally and internationally recognized program of research and/or creative scholarship that advances architectural discourse and addresses contemporary cultural, technological, and environmental challenges facing the built environment.
- Teach foundational and advanced studios at the undergraduate and graduate levels, as well as seminars in their area of expertise.
- Effectively teach and mentor college students.
- Contribute academic and professional service to the School, College, University, and broader discipline.
- We are especially interested in candidates with expertise in advanced representation and emerging drawing methods who use these skills to explore new approaches to architectural design and theoretical discourse.
Required Qualifications
- MArch degree
- Potential to establish a sustained program of research and/or creative scholarship.
- Potential for excellence in university-level teaching with a focus on design studio instruction.
- Potential to effectively teach and mentor college students.
- This position may require the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure per Texas EO-GA-48.
Preferred Qualifications
- MS, DDes, or PhD in architecture or closely related field.
- Expertise in advanced representation and emerging drawing, used to explore new approaches to architectural design and theoretical discourse.
- Record of excellence in professional practice, including licensure.
