Responsibilities

The Assistant Professor of Business will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in general business and management. Additional teaching experience in undergraduate human resources and entrepreneurship is highly desirable. The faculty member will contribute expertise to course and curriculum development efforts within the school and in interdisciplinary endeavors.

All Carroll University faculty are expected to participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching effectiveness, to maintain currency in the discipline, and to grow as a leader. In addition, this position will be involved in service to the school and university through representation and meaningful participation on committees, student recruitment and engagement activities, student advising, and assessment programs.

Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates who hold a terminal degree in a business-related discipline and have expertise in introductory business, management, organizational behavior, human resources, and entrepreneurship. Those with a master's degree and relevant experience will be considered. Teaching experience with online or hybrid modalities preferred. Candidates must have a track record as a successful and effective teacher; prior business or industry experience is highly desired. Proficiency using a wide variety of productivity tools, including Canvas and Microsoft Office, and familiarity with experiential, problem-based, and active learning pedagogical approaches is expected.

Rank and Salary

This position is an open-rank, full-time (9-month), Instructional Faculty position.

Candidates who have earned advanced rank at another institution will be considered for comparable appointment. The anticipated teaching load is 12-16 credits per semester. Opportunities for summer teaching and project work are available but not guaranteed. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications.
