Assistant Professor of Child and Family Studies
Effective Date: August 17, 2026 (Fall Semester)
Salary Range: The Assistant Professor (Academic Year) classification salary is $74,652 to $158,688 per year; $6,221 to $13,224 per month. The anticipated hiring range is $91,224 to $99,204 per year.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Child Development, Family Science, Human Development, or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated subject matter expertise in one or more specified areas including interdisciplinary work, applied child development, family science, diversity perspectives, research methods, or child and family law/policy.
- Demonstrated potential for effectiveness in teaching at the undergraduate level.
- Demonstrated potential for research resulting in publications.
- Demonstrated commitment to working successfully with a diverse student population.
Preferred Qualifications
- Interest in interdisciplinary collaborations and community-based work.
- Experience with instructional technology, mentoring students, curriculum development, securing funding, and inclusive methods.
Duties
- Teach courses in child and family development, supervise internships.
- Advise and mentor students.
- Participate in curriculum development and maintain a program of research leading to publications and presentations.
- Serve on committees and contribute to community partnerships.
