Assistant Professor of Childhood Education
The Department of Curriculum and Instruction in the College of Education and Health Professions at the University of Arkansas is seeking candidates for a nine-month tenure-track Assistant Professor of Childhood Education faculty position with a specialization in primary and elementary mathematics. The position is full-time, starting August 10, 2026.
Summary of Job Duties: Teach undergraduate mathematics methods courses; conduct research leading to peer-reviewed publications and presentations; pursue external funding; advise and mentor students; collaborate with P-6 schools for clinical experiences; provide service to the university, college, department, program, profession, and community; maintain on-campus presence and in-person teaching.
Qualifications:
- Minimum: Earned doctorate in primary/elementary mathematics education or related field; established or emerging research agenda in primary/elementary mathematics; evidence of scholarly productivity; evidence of university-level teaching potential.
- Preferred: Experience teaching mathematics methods courses; experience with in-service teachers; at least three years of primary/elementary classroom experience in the US; familiarity with clinical teacher preparation models.
Salary Information: Commensurate with education and experience.
