Assistant Professor of Civil Engineering

The School of Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Evansville invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor position in Civil Engineering with an expertise in Water Resource and/or Environmental Engineering to start in August 2026.

Applicants should be committed to outstanding undergraduate teaching and have excellent oral and written English skills. Appropriate scholarly/professional development activities and university service are expected. The applicant's primary specialty should be water resources or environmental engineering, as they will be responsible for teaching environmental engineering, fluid mechanics with lab, and advanced courses in environmental engineering, hydraulics and/or hydrology. The applicant will also likely be responsible for teaching introductory courses in engineering or environmental geology and/or overseeing the senior capstone project and course. The civil engineering program is accredited by EAC-ABET, and the applicant is expected to participate with other faculty in program assessment.

Required Education

A B.S. in civil engineering, an earned doctorate in civil engineering, and a professional engineer’s license (or the ability to obtain a P.E. license within two years) are preferred. Applicants with a Master’s Degree, a P.E., and significant work experience will be considered.
