Assistant Professor of Clinical Practice, General Internal Medicine (Palliative Care, Boise VA)

Position Description:
The University of Washington’s Department of Medicine, Division of General Internal Medicine, is seeking applicants for a full-time (1.0 FTE) faculty position to be based at the Boise VA Medical Center. This position will include serving as an attending physician on the hospice/palliative care service and as a leader in the Hospice/Palliative Care Fellowship program, as well as precepting residents and students on the wards.
This position will be at the Assistant Professor rank in the Clinical Practice track. In addition to clinical work, teaching, scholarship, and service are integral to all Clinical Practice positions. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service. The initial appointment period will be three years, at a minimum, with eligibility for renewal thereafter. Faculty on the clinical practice track hold multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. Clinical Practice track appointments are not eligible for tenure. The anticipated start date would be August 1, 2026.
Salary
This position is paid directly by the Boise VA and receives no UW compensation. Please refer to the Boise VA for information about compensation for this position.

Qualifications:
Applicants must have an MD or DO degree (or foreign equivalent), board certification* in Internal Medicine (or foreign equivalent), and must be eligible for medical licensure in the state of Idaho.
Applicants must be U.S. Citizens (permanent residents may be appointed only if it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens).
*Note: Board certification in Internal Medicine must be completed within two years after residency.
