Assistant Professor of Computer Science

The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Fayetteville State University invites applications for a tenure-track position of Assistant Professor of Computer Science to begin in January 2027. Responsibilities of the position include teaching, research, student mentoring, and university and community service. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Computer Science, or a closely related field with at least 18 credit hours of computer science courses at graduate level (ABD will be considered if award of Ph.D. degree can be expected before the start of employment).

Fayetteville State University is a constituent institution of the University of North Carolina and the second oldest public institution of higher education in the state. Founded in 1867 as the Howard School for the education of African Americans, today FSU serves a growing student body of approximately 7,600 and ranks among the nation's most diverse campus communities. The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science offers B.S. degrees in Computer Science, Cyber Security, and Mathematics with approximately 600 majors.
