Assistant Professor of Computer Science
The Assistant Professor of Computer Science & Engineering will provide high-quality instruction, engage in impactful research, and actively contribute to the growth and excellence of the Department of Computer Science & Engineering at Bethune-Cookman University. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to undergraduate education, scholarly productivity, and student mentorship within a liberal arts and Christian learning environment.
- Teach undergraduate courses in Computer Science and Engineering, including introductory through advanced topics.
- Develop and revise curriculum to ensure alignment with industry trends, accreditation standards, and student learning outcomes.
- Establish and maintain an active and externally funded research program in a relevant area of computer science or engineering.
- Engage in proposal and grant writing activities to support research and departmental initiatives.
- Advise and mentor students on academic progress, research involvement, and career preparation.
- Hold regular office hours to provide academic support and foster student success.
- Participate in departmental, college, and university committees and initiatives.
- Contribute to student recruitment, retention, and outreach activities.
- Maintain a record of scholarly publication, professional presentations, and service to the discipline.
- Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and the Christian and liberal arts mission of the University.
