Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
The Department of Mathematics, Computer Science and Data Science in the College of Sciences and Mathematics at Belmont University is seeking applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning August 1, 2026.
Job responsibilities include teaching a range of undergraduate and graduate courses in computer science, advising and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students in research and other course related projects to foster their academic and professional development, designing and implementing innovative curriculum that meets the evolving needs of the field, and preparing students for the complexities of the modern workforce.
A strong research portfolio demonstrating expertise in one or more related areas, such as artificial intelligence, data science, software engineering or cybersecurity is preferred. The successful candidate will help to grow and develop the Master's in Computer Science program that is currently being developed.
Additional responsibilities include academic advising, student mentoring, scholarly activity, and college and university service. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. or equivalent in computer science or a closely related field by the time of appointment; 1 or more years of teaching experience is strongly preferred.

- Complete 24 workload hours, or equivalent, per academic year.

Required Education Completion of a Ph.D. in computer science
Required Experience Previous experience teaching undergraduate courses is preferable, but not required
