Required qualifications:
- Ph.D. in construction or a related field. Applicants with ABD status will be considered if the requirement for a Ph.D. will be completed during the first year of employment
- A minimum of three (3) years of relevant professional experience in the design and construction industry
- Demonstrated expertise related to the CNS curriculum and ability to teach courses in more than one construction topic
- Track record of peer-reviewed publications as first or second author
- Potential to develop an externally funded research agenda in support of the CNS Division and GCA goals

Position Description
The Haskell & Irene Lemon Construction Science (CNS) Division at the University of Oklahoma's (OU) Gibbs College of Architecture (GCA) invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor 9-month position, beginning in August 2026. There is the potential for a January 2026 start for candidates who may be interested. Based in Norman, a lively college town within the Oklahoma City metropolitan area, which was recently ranked the "No. 1 Best Big City to Live In" by U.S. News & World Report, the Construction Science Division seeks faculty to help shape the future of construction education and practice. This position is part of OU's university-wide trajectory to join the nation's top public research institutions, fueled by growth in faculty excellence, research innovation, and cross-sector partnerships.
What We're Looking For
The Division seeks to hire a new faculty member to add to our award-winning team and support our growing enrollments. The new faculty member will advance teaching and research excellence in areas such as transportation (heavy civil construction), construction leadership, and/or construction innovation. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to help shape the future direction of the Division. The position offers the following notable opportunities:
